In collaboration with Free Arts for Abused Children, homeless, abused and neglected teens living in group homes, shelters and residential treatment programs throughout Maricopa County have an opportunity to create and experience the arts through a two-week theater camp at the Herberger Theater Center. Arizona Young Artists’ Competition
The Herberger Theater Center and Center Dance Ensemble recognize aspiring young performers between the ages of 15-19. Four finalists in the disciplines of Acting, Dance and Voice (Musical Theatre and Classical) are selected by qualified judges from preliminary auditions. A $1,500 scholarship is awarded to the winner in each discipline at the final competition. Learn More
Wolf Trap
This collaboration teams the Herberger Theater Center with Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation to reach children in preschool and Head Start programs. A professional artist is placed in the classroom for a seven-week residency weaving drama, music and movement to teach basic skills and encourage participation and self-esteem in the earliest stages of learning. Children’s Art Exhibit
An annual exhibit presented by the Herberger Theater and First Things First to celebrate the creativity and imagination of children ages 2 to 5. The exhibit showcases the artistic and creative abilities of children with artwork created by children participating in Quality First preschools and child care centers, First Thing First’s statewide early care and education quality improvement system.
