Artistic Opportunities

The Herberger Theater’s Art Galleries feature creative and inspiring work, showcasing Arizona artists and providing a platform for visual art. All artwork is for sale with 30% of the proceeds from each piece sold benefiting the Herberger Theater’s youth education and community outreach programs.

Curators – Connie & A O Tucker

Each year, 10-12 exhibits are held in its two galleries located on the second level of the theater. Created as a venue for local artists in 2002, each juried exhibit is on display for one or two months. Exhibits may be viewed Monday through Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (check in at the box office), before performances, and during opening receptions.

Arizona artists age 18+ may apply for inclusion in exhibits through our Call to Artist blind jury process.

Seasons Exhibit

The Herberger Theater welcomes Arizona artists to apply for the upcoming exhibit, Seasons.

The exhibit will be on display in the Herberger Theater’s Galleries, September 2, 2026 – November 1, 2026.

Theme Description
A celebration of cyclical change, rhythm, and the passage of time as expressed through spring, summer, autumn, and winter.

Each season carries its own visual language, emotional tone, and symbolic meaning. From the renewal and blossoming of spring, to the vibrancy and abundance of summer, the transformation and release of autumn, and the quiet introspection of winter. This exhibition seeks to capture the essence and contrasts of all four seasons.

All Creatures Great and Small Exhibit

The Herberger Theater welcomes Arizona artists to apply for the upcoming exhibit, All Creatures Great and Small.

The exhibit will be on display in the Herberger Theater’s Galleries, September 2, 2026 – November 1, 2026.

Theme Description
A tribute to the animals who share our homes, lives, and daily rhythms.

This exhibition focuses exclusively on domesticated animals, from beloved household pets to working companions and farm animals. Artists are encouraged to explore the many roles domestic animals play in our lives – as companions, helpers, protectors, and family members.
