The Herberger Theater Center depends on volunteers to staff all performances and assist with administrative functions. Ushers in the familiar black and white outfits are smiling, helpful individuals who welcome patrons to the theater, take their tickets, help them find their seats, and provide them with accessible hearing devices.
Ushering is a great activity for friends and family! Couples and friends often volunteer together. We accept students age 12 and older, if accompanied by a parent, grandparent or mentor.
You can apply to be an usher online. Click here for volunteer usher application.
An orientation is required for all new volunteers, and includes a full backstage tour of the Herberger Theater Center as well as usher training. You’ll also learn how to receive free parking for the performances that you work.
