The Herberger Theater invites you to volunteer for its eighth annual Festival of the Arts on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Proceeds raised from the festival benefit the Herberger Theater’s Youth Arts Education and Outreach Programs.
To make the festival happen, we need help from community volunteers and organizations to help bring in the revelers! If you are interested in volunteering, please read the descriptions below and let us know if you would like to be part of the festivities. It’s sure to be a fun and art-filled day! FREE parking will be provided to all volunteers.
The Herberger Theater Festival of the Arts will take place inside the Herberger Theater Center and outdoors on the Herberger Plaza, located at 222 East Monroe Street in downtown Phoenix.
Volunteers are needed from 7:30am-8:00pm in the following areas:
- Backstage Runners and Stage Hands
- Tech Assistants
- Vendor and Performer Check-In
- Set Up and Strike
Anyone interested in volunteering should sign up by October 1, 2017, online at: http://signup.com/go/eTMptRR by selecting specific position(s)/shift(s). We will not be able to assign walk up volunteers to a shift on event day.
Help us welcome festival guests! Working the two main entrances requires a friendly disposition to distribute programs, answer questions — and have fun.
Volunteers will admit other volunteers and festival participants at these tables (one located at each entrance). It will require welcoming participants and directing vendors to their assigned booth location.
Volunteers for this job will need to be energetic, organized and outgoing! Stage runners and stage hands will be stationed at Center Stage and Stage West. Their responsibility will be to keep track of the performance schedule, i.e., greet and gather performers at the appropriate time, and escort them to the stage. Additionally, tech assistants will be needed in various areas.
Wear something colorful and cool! November sounds like it should bring fall weather, but that’s not always the case in Arizona, so dress accordingly. And be sure to wear sun block and a hat! We’ll mostly be under canopies and have plenty of water on hand.
We welcome groups, schools and organizations. Group coordinators MUST submit all sign ups to the festival volunteer coordinator.
The minimum age requirement for an unaccompanied volunteer is 16 years old. We may be able to place volunteers ages 12-15 if accompanied by parent/guardian in certain positions (contact the festival volunteer coordinator).
