Presented by Scottsdale School of Ballet
May 19, 2018 – May 20, 2018
We are delighted as always to perform at the Heberger Theater in the annual Soiree de Ballet 2018. Sponsored by the Scottsdale Ballet Foundation, these performances have received rave reviews to sell-out audiences for the past eight years.
The performance features the perennial favorite, “The Ballet Class” where the audience gets a in-depth look into the training of a ballet student, from the beginning steps through the Advanced level. Followed by our presentation of an original one-act ballet conceived and choreographed by the directors Donald Dadey and Sibylle Acatos- Dadey. In the past we have featured “The Carnival”, “The Enchanted Room”, “The Selfish Giant” and “La Boutique Fantasque” which is always fun and enjoyable for the entire family at any age!
For the finale to this evening we present highlights from one of the true classics. In this representation you will see the technical prowess and interpretive strengths one of our Advanced level students. These ballets are always painstakingly, authentically and exquisitely re-staged by Sibylle Acatos-Dadey.
In addition to these wonderful ballets we are delighted to feature choreography from our wonderful faculty with Julia Chacon’s, Flamenco, and we are excited to present a new work by our newest faculty member, Jaon Rodriguez for Contemporary Dance.
Robrt L. Pela of the Phoenix New Times wrote, “Scottsdale School of Ballet, under the direction of big-deal dance mavens, Sibylle Acatos-Dadey and Donald Dadey, has gotten raves for it’s annual “An Evening of Ballet” spring performance at the Herberger.”
