Produced by Center Dance Ensemble
October 23, 2014 – October 26, 2014
The Bad and The Beautiful featuring Billy the Kid/The Ballet.
In addition, there are four premieres on the program:
Frances Smith Cohen’s With Wings, which she describes as “my (and almost all professional dancers) autobiography… When you dance, it is like having wings–you fly!”
Frances Smith Cohen’s Red, a bit of tongue in cheek starting with the premise that Little Red Riding Hood is naughty. The question: “Who is really chasing who?” The Wolf thinks he is the cool/evil one but he doesn’t have a chance.
From Diane McNeal Hunt, our resident choreographer, Night of Moonlit Wild, “I found inspiration in considering aspects of Night, with its mystery and primal undercurrent of raw energy, a feeling of intrinsic drama in nature during the darkness, the mystic beauty that lives in shadows and glows under the light of the moon.”
And Scorpius Dance Theatre joins us with Fade, a new work by Lisa Starry, about the constant chaos in the world and the effect it has taken.
