- At-risk preschool aged children had the opportunity to participate in music, dance and movement activities;
- Homeless and abused teens had an opportunity to create and experience the arts through a two-week theater camp;
- Promising young performers had the opportunity to showcase their talent in the areas of dance, voice and acting and take home a scholarship to help further their education in the arts.
The Herberger Theater Center’s outreach programs provide a valuable experience for kids… sparking and stimulating their imagination, encouraging their confidence and brightening their view of the future. With your support, our outreach programs will enhance the lives of nearly 1,500 homeless, at-risk and low-income children in 2013.
Your gift will give preschoolers from the inner city an opportunity to join in the fun of dance and musical activities, making theater a welcoming place for them. Your gift will give abused teens a summer camp experience and healing opportunity to express their hurt through the art of theater… encouraging personal worth and belief that their dreams for a happy life are achievable.
Now more than ever, the Herberger Theater strives to provide and support significant and relevant experiences in the arts for youth through Wolf Trap, Free Arts Multicultural Theater Camp and the Arizona Young Artists’ Competition.
